Over the past three decades we've been
laying slates on houses throughout the
whole of the UK. So we know what we're
doing!
We cover all types of roofing from
domestic outhouses to major
commercial buildings and we use all types
of material including Welsh, Spanish,
Chinese and Brazilian slate.
We have the knowledge and we have
the expertise to ensure a trouble-free
and aesthetically pleasing roof on your property.
Slating is a specialist operation which requires experience and proven
ability in order to achieve the right results.
We've been around for long enough to have seen too many examples of slates laid incorrectly! All
natural slates should be graded by thickness with the thick ones toward the bottom. Slates are then
laid side by side with slates of the same thickness to ensure everything lies flat. Head lap and
battening should be worked out correctly for the size of the slate being used and slates should be
laid with a slight gap so that water is not trapped, causing the slates to split in freezing conditions.
We are selective about the slates we use, preferring slates that do not have active pirites in the
rock so you will be left with a natural roof that will have a stable colour throughout its life.
